the designer
Carol's childhood ambition has always been to become a fashion designer and she feels extremely blessed to be able to live her dream. Whether it was making dresses for her little sister out of blankets or making outfits for herself out of newspapers and shoelaces, she has been creatively expressing herself through clothing since she was 10 years old.
Carol's design philosophy is simple: To create clothes that make women look and feel beautiful. Her personal style can be described as glamorous and sophisticated, and she strives to create an aesthetic that is modern and discriminating but always timeless. Her couture gowns are all one-of-a-kind creations that she personally drapes and sews herself, while her ready-to-wear line is created to provide the modern woman with high-quality clothing at accessible prices.
Carol has also made a commitment to supporting eco-fashion by making many of her pieces out of recycled clothing and sustainable fabrics.
the beauty queen
In 2005, Carol continued on a long-standing tradition by becoming the 48th woman to claim the prestigious national title of Miss Chinatown USA. Using her title to support various charitable causes, she traveled the nation acting as an ambassador of goodwill for the Chinese-American community. The following year, Carol went on to make history by becoming the first Asian-American to win Miss San Francisco. Actively involved with the community, she regularly volunteered her time speaking at schools, performing at events, hosting benefits, and mentoring others.
For Carol, pageantry has always been more of means than an end and she feels grateful to have been able to use her titles to help serve her community on another level. These experiences have also functioned to solidify her commitment to service and have inspired her to embark on charitable efforts such as organizing a local volunteer club and teaching English and dance at the largest HIV/AIDS orphanage in Ethiopia.

Carol then proceeded to complete a certificate program in general management at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, but ultimately decided to pursue her childhood dream, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Theta Kappa from FIDM with a degree in fashion design.
Carol has enjoyed many honors and acclaim as a young designer with her work being featured at SF Fashion Week, the de Young Museum, WWD, and in the SF Chronicle. Also a seasoned model, event and show producer, and former beauty queen, Carol has been involved with numerous community events and continually volunteers her time supporting various charitable causes. As a result of her efforts, the City of San Francisco has awarded Carol a special "Certificate of Honor" recognizing her outstanding leadership and devoted service to her community.
